Dr. Barbara Schroeder
Ophthalmologist
Specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular disease, cataract surgery, eyelid and muscle surgeries.
Accepts limited pediatric patients.
Dr. Schroeder is a certified ophthalmologist with the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been caring for patients for over 31 years. Dr. Schroeder obtained her Bachelor of Arts in French and Biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., and a Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Ind. She continued her ophthalmology studies at West Virginia University serving as a Department of Medicine intern and afterwards completed an ophthalmology residency through Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.V., with an emphasis on primary care and comprehensive ophthalmology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology and member and past president of the Fort Wayne Medical Society. Dr. Schroeder has gained recognition for her contribution and expertise in the field of ophthalmology. In both 2005 and 2008 Dr. Schroeder was named "Top Doc" by Fort Wayne Business Journal as well as "Top Doc" in 2008 by Upstate Indiana. She was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of the Rotary Club International. Dr. Schroeder was also named the 2009 Humanitarian Ophthalmologist of the Year by the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology for her humanitarian work performing cataract surgeries on medical mission trips to Mexico and for donating her professional services to the Matthew 25 eye clinic.
Dr. Natalka Fedoriw
Ophthalmologist
Specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular disease and cataract surgery
Dr. Natalka Fedoriw has been in private practice since 2005. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., and her Medical Degree from Indiana University, Indianapolis, Ind. Her continued studies include an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill., and an ophthalmology residency at Wayne State University's Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Mich. As a certified Ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Fedoriw was written many articles in her specialty of ocular medicine, is an active member of American Medical Association and Ukrainian Medical Association of North America. Dr. Fedoriw has made many medical mission trips throughout the world but now focuses her efforts to the greater Fort Wayne. Dr. Fedoriw's "new hobbies" are being an active mom with her young son and keeping up with family life.
Dr. Eric Purdy
Ophthalmologist
Specializing in cataract and complex anterior segment surgery, glaucoma, oculoplastic, lacrimal, orbital and eye muscle surgery
Eric P. Purdy, M.D. graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his Medical Degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and completed two residencies, one in Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic and the other one in Ophthalmology at the University of Florida. He also completed a fellowship in Orbital & Oculoplastic surgery at Wright State University School of Medicine, in Dayton. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and Internal Medicine, is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and has authored many medical journal articles and textbook chapters. Dr. Purdy has been nominated for several humanitarian awards for his continued efforts traveling throughout the world on Medical Mission trips to 14 different countries (and counting). Dr. Purdy has practiced ocular medicine for over 27 years and is a current adjunct professor of Ophthalmology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Purdy is also fluent in Spanish which is a great resource to his patients both at VCO and throughout the world.
Dr. Megan Delis
Optometrist
Specializing in comprehensive eye examinations for all stages of life, Dry Eye Disease, contact lens fittings including specialty Scleral Contact Lens fittings, post-operative care, and the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases.
Dr. Megan Delis received her undergraduate degree from Saint Mary’s University Notre Dame in 2017. From there, she went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2021. As part of her training, she completed externships at the Fort Wayne Veterans Hospital, the Villages Veterans Clinic, Sight for Vision in Burke, Virginia, and the Atwater Eye Care Clinic in Bloomington, IN. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and is certified by the American Board of Optometry. She is also a part of the provider team for our Matthew 25 Vision Clinic and has assisted with school screenings for the greater Fort Wayne area. Dr. Megan Delis is a third-generation eye doctor, following in the footsteps of her late grandfather (Dr. Donald Bollheimer), and her mother (Dr. Susan Eggebrecht). It was during medical mission trips with her mother and Ophthalmologist, Dr. Eric Purdy, which led to her decision to pursue ocular medicine as a career path. Outside of work, Dr. Delis enjoys spending time with family at the lake, cheering on Irish football, and hanging out with her bernedoodle and husband, Dr. Jake Delis.
Dr. Susan Eggebrecht
Optometrist
Specializing in comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, post-operative care, and diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases.
Dr. Susan Eggebrecht received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Indiana University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana School of Optometry in 1989. As part of her training she completed an externship at the Atlanta Omni Eye Center, the Indianapolis Eye Center and the Fort Wayne Veterans Hospital. She has been certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease since 1989. Dr. Eggebrecht is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association. She has participated in several medical eye missions in St. Vincent. She has been in private practice in Ft. Wayne since she graduated, and started Vision Care Associates in 1999. Dr. Eggebrecht is a native of Fort Wayne and is thrilled to work alongside one of her daughters, Dr. Megan Delis who joined VCO as an Optometrist in 2021. Dr Eggebrecht likes to spend time up at the lake with her family, enjoys running and being outside in her free time.
Dr. Zachary Roth
Optometrist
Specializing in comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, post-operative care, and the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases.
Dr. Zachary Roth earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Indiana University in 2008 and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2012. As part of his training he completed externships at the Fort Wayne Veterans Hospital, the Indianapolis Eye Center and the Montrose/Castle Point Veterans Hospitals in New York (Hudson Valley VA HCS). Following his externships, he returned to the Fort Wayne Veterans Hospital to complete an optometric residency in Ocular Disease/Primary Care in 2013. During his residency, Dr. Roth was involved in medical mission trips in Honduras and the island of St. Vincent, where he provided comprehensive eyecare to hundreds of people in need. Dr. Roth is a native of Roanoke and enjoys spending time outdoors and at the lake. Dr. Roth is married to also Dr. Roth and they have two children. He has been one of our doctors who volunteers for our Vision Clinic with Matthew 25.
Dr. Anne Krafsig
Ophthalmologist
Specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular disease and eye trauma, cataract surgery, and various eyelid and muscle surgeries.
After graduating from Bishop Dwenger HS in Ft Wayne, Anne Schroeder Krafsig graduated from IU Bloomington with a BA in Spanish and Biology. She went on to attend medical school at the IU School of Medicine. Throughout high school, college, and medical school, Anne was able to attend several medical missions. In Mexico, she has attended the Yucatan Eye Mission several times with her mother, Dr. Barb Schroeder. In Guatemala, she spent a summer working with Safe Passage, a program to give a hand to families living on the fringes of a landfill. In Honduras, she assisted with dental care while in high school; while in medical school she brought equipment and assistance to the eye training program in Tegucigalpa. Her Ophthalmology residency was in Charleston SC at the Storm Eye Center and she stayed on for a year as director of Ophthalmic Trauma. During that time, she also did a mini-fellowship in oculoplastics with Dr. Andrew Eiseman. She now enjoys being back in Ft Wayne with her husband, step-daughter, and two toddlers and is happy to be a member of the VCO team.
Dr. Jacob Delis
Optometrist
Specializing in comprehensive eye examinations for all stages of life, contact lens fittings, post-operative care, and the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases.
Dr. Jacob Delis was born and raised in Aurora, Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree in biology, with a minor in business, from The Ohio State University in 2018. After his undergraduate studies, Dr. Delis attended the Indiana University School of Optometry, where he graduated with honors in 2022. During this time, he completed clinical rotations with W.J.B. Dorn Veterans Medical Center, I.U.'s Indianapolis Eye Care Center, Cataract and Laser Institute in Maumee, Ohio, and University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa, and is certified by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Delis focuses on eye care for all ages including specialties in contact lenses, dry eye disease, and other ocular pathology. He is also involved with pediatric school screenings in the Fort Wayne area. In his free time, Dr. Delis enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Megan Delis, and family. Usually this entails walking their bernedoodle, playing board games, and spending time at the lake. Being a Clevelander at heart, Dr. Delis is also an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan.
